40 mm vs 25 mm: How Pressure Is Applied Matters
A tourniquet isn't only about how much pressure it applies. It's about where that pressure goes and how precisely you can control it.
Conventional windlass tourniquets apply pressure through a narrow internal band, about 25 mm wide. OwlGrip 1.0 applies it through a 40 mm effective pressure band, which is 60% wider. Like a wider blood-pressure cuff, a wider band needs less pressure to occlude the artery.
The video shows the difference.
